Living with chronic illness myself has given me an appreciation for the uncertainty, grief, identity shifts, and resilience that often accompany ongoing health conditions.

About:

Theresa Goldstein is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in CA who often supports teens, adults, and perinatal and postpartum clients living with chronic illness, autoimmune conditions, anxiety, and OCD. She helps clients navigate grief, trauma, identity shifts, and life transitions while fostering self-compassion, resilience, mindfulness, and self-advocacy.

I specialize in working with these populations:

  • Autoimmune conditions

  • Thyroid conditions

  • Lichen Sclerosis

  • MS

  • POTS

  • Perinatal and postpartum

My expertise comes from:

“My interest in working with individuals living with chronic illness grew from both personal and professional experience. Living with chronic illness myself has given me an appreciation for the uncertainty, grief, identity shifts, and resilience that often accompany ongoing health conditions. I've also been a caretaker for family members navigating their own chronic health and autoimmune conditions. Clinically, I’ve worked with adults navigating chronic illness, autoimmune conditions, medical trauma, and major life transitions. My training in trauma-informed care, Expressive arts therapy, psychodynamic therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, and ERP has shaped my approach, allowing me to help clients process difficult experiences while building self-compassion, resilience, reparenting, and practical skills. I strive to create a space where clients feel understood, not defined by their diagnosis, and supported as whole people.”
