About:
Lissa Merkel is a psychotherapist who practices in Los Angeles both in person and via Telehealth. She has a chronic illness and has experienced a lot of medical trauma which informs her practice since 2016. She admires the strength and fortitude her clients show when facing yet another lab draw, imaging, doctor's appointment, biopsy or surgery. It can be very difficult to get through the day with a chronic illness. Lissa enjoys helping other patients retain their dignity, individuality and agency as she joins with them to address the complex emotions and situations that present themselves.
