I understand the fatigue. I understand the grief around your life looking different than you thought it would. I also understand that many aspects of chronic illness can be invisible, therefore it isn’t always obvious to those around you how much you are going through.

About:

Dr. Kerry Haddock is a New York State licensed psychologist and the owner of Harborside Psychology. Dr. Haddock specializes in working with teens and young adults dealing with chronic illness, anxiety and ADHD. Dr. Haddock has experience in supporting clients with diagnoses such as cancer, autoimmune conditions, GI disorders, hormonal conditions and chronic pain.

Additionally, Dr. Haddock provides support for clients navigating the healthcare system as they try to find answers and diagnoses. Dr. Haddock places a strong focus on the therapeutic relationship and approaches therapy with a warm and compassionate perspective.

I specialize in working with these populations:

  • Autoimmune conditions

  • Cancer in Teens, Adults

  • GI Conditions

  • Hormonal conditions (PMOS, Endometriosis)

  • MCAS/POTS/EDS/Long Covid

My expertise comes from:

“I was drawn to the field due to an interest in working with people and in medicine. I eventually realized that I wanted to focus on the emotional side, not so much the medical side. I started volunteering at hospitals as a teenager and realized I really enjoyed working with patients in the oncology units. I continued to volunteer up until my doctoral program. I completed my pre- doctoral internship in a pediatric oncology unit.

I started experiencing chronic health issues during college, however I didn't have a diagnosis or answers at that point. I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer while completing my pre- doctoral internship. This greatly impacted my life and led to additional chronic health issues. I feel that my lived experience coupled with my training and clinical experience puts me in a unique position to support clients with chronic illness. ”
