About:
Deanna Kessler, LCSW, LICSW, works with high-achieving millennials and business owners navigating chronic illness, anxiety, and the emotional impact of ongoing health challenges. Many of her clients are used to being capable, productive, and taking care of everything around them. When chronic illness changes their energy, capacity, or ability to keep up with life and work, they may find themselves struggling with uncertainty, frustration, grief, and a changing sense of who they are.
Deanna takes a mind-body approach to therapy, integrating EMDR, Brainspotting, parts work, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), and other somatic and experiential practices. She helps clients slow down, process what they are carrying, listen to their needs, and build trust in their own experience. Together, they work toward finding a way to care for themselves while still living a life that feels meaningful and true to who they are.
I specialize in working with these populations:
Autoimmune conditions
Hashimotos
IBS
Infertility
My expertise comes from:
“My path to working with people with chronic illness began through navigating my own chronic illness. Going through my own experience gave me a deeper understanding of what it is like to live with chronic illness and how it can affect your day to day life, relationships, and sense of self. It also showed me how important it is to have a space to slow down and process the emotional side of that experience.
As I began working with clients navigating chronic illness, I quickly realized how meaningful this work was to me. I feel passionate about creating space for the grief, fear, frustration, uncertainty, and other emotions that can come with chronic illness. I value being able to sit with clients in these experiences, bear witness to what they are going through, and help them make sense of and process their experiences.”
