“My mission is to provide a deeply validating, compassionate space where clients and their families can process the profound life transitions brought on by illness, manage caregiver burnout, and reclaim a sense of peace, purpose, and quality of life in the present.”
About:
Dr. Aimee Jordan, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist in California with over 25 years of experience. She has a special interest in supporting individuals, couples, and families affected by chronic and complex medical conditions, including autoimmune disorders, immunodeficiency, Dysautonomia/POTS, ME/CFS, and Lyme disease.
Living with a long-term illness impacts every aspect of life—bringing grief, uncertainty, identity shifts, and caregiver stress. Dr. Jordan provides a compassionate, collaborative space to process these unique challenges, strengthen healthy coping skills, and navigate relationship strains. Believing you are the true expert of your own life, her strengths-based approach focuses on enhancing your overall quality of life rather than just "fixing what is broken."
I specialize in working with these populations:
Lyme
POTS
Autoimmune
Dysautonomia
My expertise comes from:
“I have always integrated the mind-body connection into my work, but my clinical path has shifted slightly to include complex medical conditions after navigating a loved one's illness. This experience exposed a profound gap in the healthcare system for comprehensive, integrated support. I saw firsthand that families dealing with chronic challenges—such as autoimmune flares, Lyme, chronic fatigue, and autonomic dysfunction—were left to navigate the immense psychological toll without adequate care. This realization drove me to re-center my practice, offering a framework that bridges the intersection of mental health and long-term physical illness.
This lived insight transformed how I practice. It drove me to join organizations like the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS) to stay at the cutting edge of complex medical research, ensuring my clinical interventions are grounded in the actual medical realities of conditions like dysautonomia, POTS, ME/CFS, and autoimmune disorders.”
