About Matthew
Matthew's journey with his own disability informs how he brings compassion, optimism, and an appreciation for the importance of healthy grieving to sessions with his clients. He validates individual experiences, stays in his lane, and serves as a navigator regardless of the stage of his client's journey. He has an appreciation for how science and medicine can serve us, without embracing the assumption that medicine has found all the answers. His clients' complexity, strength, and sheer humanity continue to provide him with awe and curiosity.
How my expertise developed
“I live with a disability, so serving this community is a passion. While I draw on my own experiences, I recognize that each experience with one's body is unique, so I have sought out opportunities to learn by listening, staying curious, and--above all--engaging compassionately. Professionally, I seek continuing education to keep my skills sharp and acquire new knowledge.”
