My expertise comes from:
“I have been living with chronic illness for about fifteen years. As I began to connect with others with chronic conditions, I would constantly hear about the impact of chronic illness and medical trauma on mental health. I saw there was a need for empathetic, holistic, and collaborative care for navigating life with chronic illness. After learning about third wave CBT through my own therapy, I made the decision to go to graduate school to become a Mental Health Counselor. Throughout my studies, I specifically focused on better understanding medical trauma and mental health as it relates to chronic conditions. My clinical work, from internship to limited permit hours to current licensure, has been focused on working with individuals living with chronic illness.”
